Solid process – massive website
The association of the French-speaking lawyers of Brussels, known as Le Barreau de Bruxelles, missioned us for the creation of their new website.
We started the project in January, with one clear deadline: a go live on the 1/09, to match the appointment of Marie Dupont as first ever chairwoman of the institution - a historic milestone!
With a new chairwoman backed a young and highly motivated communication team, the Barreau enters in a new era, shifting towards a more modern identity and communication style.
The mission was clear: simplify the structure and content of the existing public website to make it more fluid and accessible for the visitors, and completely reshape the private section reserved for affiliated lawyers, to transform it into a digital toolbox and an online library.
We implemented with precision our step-by-step methodology to ensure we keep this colossal project under control.
Due to the high amount of content, we organized a series of participative workshops that gathered the communication team and a representative sample of users. During these workshops we re-established the basics of the website: targeted users, user pathways, hierarchy of information. Thanks to the feedback of the participating end-users, we identified the key information and key functionalities they were looking for to make them easily accessible.
The result of these quite intense workshops was the creation of complete and detailed wireframes to validate the structure of the website and its sections. Considering the complexity of the platform, we made these wireframes clickable and interactive, to ensure all functionalities and visit flows were clear for the whole project team.
During the design phase, we exploited the recently revamped visual identity and enriched it with new colors and new shapes to help us created a clear and attractive website.
Then we created a very precise technical specifications document that detailed every section, element, and functionality of the website. This 173-pages document was full of screenshots and written explanations. The document pursued two objectives: 1- be used as a detailed briefing for the development team and 2- become a reference for the project management team and client for all reviews and debug phases.
We developed the mastodon over summer, during an intense but well-organized development phase. We assisted the Barreau for the upload of content via the easy-to-use CMS. And we release the website … on 1/09/24, as initially agreed.
The result is a massive but well-structured website providing useful information to all public visitors, contributing to a fairer access to justice for all and offering a digital goldmine for affiliated lawyers, via a seamless login system in collaboration with the official platform avocats.be.
